Well, we’ve left you waiting long enough! If you’ll remember we posted Kayla’s college reveal session (linked) a few weeks ago and we want to finally showcase her entire senior session! And with a reveal like that, you know we didn’t hold back on her full session either.
Kayla is such a big dreamer and I love working with people who don’t settle for less than what they want and what better way to celebrate her taking on her new chapter in life by going big in the Big Apple! That’s right, we photographed her senior portrait session in the beautiful and iconic New York City.
We traveled up, met at the airport, and hit the ground running. Our first stop, the iconic DUMBO area! We took photos everywhere possible and made sure to land on Jane’s Carousel. We played up the entire scene with some fun balloons as well to really make every part of this memorable.
We made our way to so many other places and Kayla was such a trooper to travel and be such a good sport for being fresh off the plane!
The next morning we woke up so early. Early meaning we started hair and makeup with the lovely Pierre Ellis at around 3:30 am! We were determined to get some incredible sunrise shots in the morning golden hour on the Brooklyn Bridge. We made our way over there, had a bit of confusion on how to get up on the bridge, being tourists as usual, but we finally made our way up and it was worth every minute of sleep we missed out on. Just magical!
After that, we used the rest of the day to find other hot spots. We made our way to One World Trade and caught some amazing art and graffiti around the city too. We went back to our jazzy hotel, the Nomo SoHo to shoot in and around and also visited the Plaza Hotel, an iconic hotel where Home Alone was filmed, for some creative photos and a real New York City vibe!
The Nomo SoHo hotel is such a gorgeous boutique hotel and since we were staying there, we took full advantage! We snagged classic and stylish New York City senior portraits inside and outside of this amazing place.
Finally, to wrap it all up we dipped in Central Park for a few shots and ended at the Radio City Music Hall.
How many seniors do you know that traveled to NEW YORK CITY for their senior portraits!? It was one of the best experiences I’ve had as a photographer and it will be a session for all of us to remember. Kayla was so incredible to work with and because we appreciated her flexibility and a great attitude we also surprised her with videography for our entire shoot together over two days in the beautiful New York City!
This was one for the books. It was a jam-packed, busy two days but 100% worth it! It was an experience I will cherish and never forget and I think I can say the same for Kayla.
Make your senior portrait experience one to remember. Take time and invest in this moment for yourself. Make these memories last and do it up how YOU want to. Let us capture your unique senior portraits for you and give you an experience like no other. Check out all of her amazing images as well as the amazing video of her shoot over the two days in New York City.
